We are looking for a skilled Tool Maker for injection moulding toolings for our new manufacturing site based in Corby.

Days Role

You will join a small team, where your actions can make a difference and you will have the possibility to progress and develop your skills in this role. Your work will involve an introduction to a diverse range of tooling designs and complex hot runner solutions. You will be responsible for the maintenance of the injection moulding tooling.

Key Responsibilities

Acting as a Subject Matter Expert on all tooling-related matters within the Jokey Corby Site by using your skills for milling, turning, grinding, spark erosion, welding & benchwork.
Preparation of injection moulds for production according to specification.
Carrying out repair jobs on injection moulding tools on a daily basis and within the scope of preventive maintenance.
Attend breakdowns, identify fault and problem solve at the injection moulding machine with minimal downtime to aid production
Estimate length of time required to complete a job and likely consequences of failure to complete work within required timescales.
Working on a day shift, and enjoying the opportunity to collaborate in the start of our 16th production plant.
Maintain all necessary records i.e. Tool Trials, Job Sheets etc. in our ERP-System
Working with other departments and teams in production aligned to strategic objectives; capacity is proactively planned and managed.
Complying with all risk assessments and company Environment, Health & Safety Procedures relevant to all work activities.
Provide support and involvement in the Jokey Production System Program. (Continuous Improvement, Shop Floor Management)

About you

· The successful candidate will ideally have

Machining and benching skills
Experience with plastics injection moulding toolings
Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
HND/C&G qualification or Apprenticeship
You will ideally have experience in root cause analysis focusing on process and tooling, and working knowledge of hot runner systems & mould assemblies
You will be able to demonstrate strong and clear accountability/responsibility for the successful and accurate completion of designated tasks
strong communication skills and good compentence in Microsoft

Who you’ll be working with

Under the direction of a Production Manager and working as a member of the Production team, you will be responsible for owning, executing and coordinating mould tooling activities across the manufacturing site and coordinating and placing repair orders at external toolmakers. You’ll work closely with other Mechanical Engineers and Mould Setters to ensure that plant and equipment is kept up and running with minimal down time, maintenance schedules are upheld and production KPI’s are met.

Shift pattern: 8 hours day shift from Monday-Friday
